Thinking of Career in Cloud Computing ?

What are the requirements to learn cloud computing? -Query asked in Quora

This is the start-up of the journey towards my blogging for cloud technology beginning:

This blog will be cover some important points that need to be considered while you are trying to hit the career in cloud computing field (For both Fresher & Experienced), I will be writing the blog in layman language because I believe everyone should understand the concept easily.

I would like to share 10 most important points to describe the pre-requisites to choose cloud computing as your career path:

1.       It’s quite simple to get your core field to be selected as Cloud Compute, but the main problem that market is experiencing nowadays is that Experienced candidates are required, which become road blocker for fresher’s.

2.      Whereas my suggestion would be - no matter in which field you start, like as a System administrator, software developer or technical support, you should be clear about your vision like after doing at least 1 year of experience in this field I would prefer cloud domain.

3.      Now, while you are pursuing your experience period of 1 year as I said in above point, you need to upskill your knowledge which will make you comfortable in cloud environment with your current skills. Like by learning from online video lectures on Cloud Services. (I will be sharing we video lecture links for cloud compute basic understanding in my next blog)

4.      Before doing it you must be sure about which service provider (vender) you want to prefer, to launch your career in cloud. What I mean is Amazon web service (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google etc., these are the three most reputed cloud service providers in the market.

5.      The basics of cloud computing starts from virtualization. So, first understand virtualization techniques use various tools such as VMware, Hyper-V etc.

6.      Also to start cloud computing practice you can start with free trial subscriptions that all the venders provide for limited period.

7.      So, first to enter to the field its necessary to build your root grounded enough that when the tree starts growing, it must not stumble and make rigid and firm stand in market.

8.      Also for fresher’s I would suggest, you could search jobs on cloud based organization with designations like - Assistant Support engineer, Cloud Support, Technical Support etc. But before this research about the above points and learn more about cloud.

9.      It’s not mandatory to have your past career/experience in IT only, like - Computer Science background or Engineering in IT. I am from Electronics and Telecommunication branch of engineering and still I have been working with IT industry since last 3.7 Years. I have many more examples who are from mechanical branch and now working in IT at reputed designation from 10–15 years.

10.  India gets the outsourced projects for cloud domain from various countries to save costs of services but very soon there will be a day where India will also be using this technology everywhere. Few start-up’s and big organization have already started using cloud in India as well, so there is huge scope with numerous opportunities for cloud in India too.
